Michael P. Donahue, D.O.

mdonahueDr. Donahue focuses his practice on the treatment of spinal diseases along with difficulties of the foot and ankle. He has a philosophy of maximizing conservative care and exploring less invasive options prior to offering surgical alternatives. These may include physical therapy, bracing chiropractic care and/or injections. If surgery is needed, Dr, Donahue has been well trained in all aspects of the spine and foot and ankle. He graduated from the prestigious fellowships of the Scoliosis and Spinal Surgery Fellowship of Maryland and the Michigan International Foot and Ankle Fellowship. He is well versed in minimally invasive surgery, not only implementing this into his practice, but also acting as a lecturer and trainer to spinal surgeons throughout the nation. He currently is active in continuing medical education and speaks regularly at national orthopedic conferences.

Before joining the Center for Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. Donahue practiced at a Level I trauma center in Las Vegas, Nevada. He delivered superior care working as a trauma surgeon for Las Vegas Neurosurgery Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. He has also proudly served in the military as a General Medical Officer with the US Navy spending three years with Marine Air Group 28 in Cherry Point, North Carolina.

Dr. Donahue is an active member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathy Academy of Orthopedics, the North American Spine Society, the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Michigan Orthopedic Society.

As with all our physicians, Dr. Donahue is board certified. He received his doctorate in 1995 from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and continued with his residency through MSU and their McLaren Oakland Hospitals.

Dr. Donahue treats all aspects of spine and foot/ankle conditions and has hospital privileges at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center in Rochester, William Beaumont Hospital in Troy and McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac.
